Eczema is a chronic (long-lasting) condition that is controllable but, unfortunately, not curable. It presents as itchy red rashes that ooze liquid and are accompanied by cracked and dry skin. It can occur at any age. When it occurs in children, it is called atopic dermatitis.

Eczema can occur on any part of the body. It is not contagious.
